Design update

Town Council on Jan. 11, 2011, voted unanimously to name the 225-acre park planned near the west end of Plum Creek Parkway Philip S. Miller Park.

The Parks and Recreation Commission and a resident committee in 2010 researched a project befitting Miller’s legacy endorsed the name. The Town is one of several recipients of trust monies that the local banker and philanthropist and his wife, Jerry, left behind.

The Philip S. Miller Legacy Project Committee recommended using monies from the trust toward creating community gathering structures at the park, as youth and activities for them were of great importance to the Millers.
