Town Council Update

Sept. 17 Council update: 2020 Budget finalized; Council declines participation in the Community Development Block Grant program; staff directed to move forward with acquisition of property near Plum Creek Golf Club

Final adoption of the Town’s 2020 Budget and consideration of the Town’s participation in the 2020 Community Development Grant Program were both major topics on Town Council’s Sept. 17 meeting agenda. Council also directed staff to proceed with purchase agreement to acquire a 7.6-acre portion of non-course land from the Plum Creek Golf Club.

Here’s a more in-depth look at those major agenda items:

  • 2020 Budget finalized – The 2020 Budget will continue to prioritize public safety, transportation and water initiatives. Town Council adopted the $228 million budget Tuesday. The budget includes three new Police Department positions, $10.6 million toward annual pavement maintenance, and water projects totaling more than $40 million.

The final budget will also decrease wastewater rates by 3%, which will result in a .9% reduction in the total water bill for the typical residential customer. Growth-related impact fees charged on new construction will also be increased. View details of the entire budget at CRgov.com/2020budget.
