Your Town Council meets Tuesday, May 7. View the full agenda online.

Town Council is scheduled to discuss several items including a proclamation naming May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 12-18 as Police Week.

Here is a preview of a couple other items on Tuesday’s agenda:

  • Direction to update and amend the Town’s economic development policy – Town Council will be asked to approve a request to update and amend the Castle Rock’s Economic Development Policy. The policy was designed to be a living document that would be updated as needed to reflect the goals of the community. These updates reflect feedback from Council’s March 5 study session. Council directed staff to update policies to address the limited office supply and the community’s desire to grow the primary employment market.

The proposed updates include two significant additions: 1) the Office Loan Program, which outlines plans to attract primary employment by investing in new office development; and 2) the Office Lease Program, which outlines plans to attract primary employment by supporting and mitigating risk for new office development.

  • Resolution approving Castle Rock Police Department’s strategic plan – Town Council will be asked to review and approve Castle Rock Police’s 2019-2023 Five-Year Strategic Plan. The plan serves as a road map for the department and promotes effective resource allocation and budget planning. It is also a living document that will be updated to reflect community expectations, concerns and organizational priorities.

During the strategic planning process, the department identified six strategic priorities – crime; traffic safety; department employees; future growth; community policing and partnerships; and technology, equipment and practices.
