Explorer Post No. 401

About the Post

The Castle Rock Police Department Explorer Post No. 401 began in early 2004 with eight members. Currently, there are 15 explorers.

Explorers learn every aspect of law enforcement from law enforcement officers and police command staff. The explorer command staff is extensively trained in all areas so they can then perform peer-to-peer training with the explorers. Explorers receive community service credit, which they can use toward their high school graduation or college requirements.

Each explorer must:
  • Complete an oral board with post command staff
  • Have no criminal history
  • Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA or have a diploma or GED
  • Be between the ages of 14 to 21
